PeeWee's life got off to a rough start. When a Brother Wolf volunteer arrived at the owner's home to take him and his family into foster care, she found them living outside on hard concrete steps. It had started to drizzle and the momcat and PeeWee's brothers moved under shelter. But PeeWee remained curled in an empty food bowl, one eye sealed closed with an untreated infection, weighing just a little over half what his brothers did. With antibiotics the infection cleared enough for the vet to determine that PeeWee did still have the eye, but an ulcer had formed, obscuring his vision. He gained almost a pound in that week - nearly doubling his weight - and as his eyes grow the vet believes he is gaining some vision. On the other end (so to speak), PeeWee has a short tail, broken at a 90 degree angle. This, at least, doesn't seem to bother him! This little guy is sort of shy but is coming around as his vision improves. He adores his brothers and mom and would love to go home with one of them, or to a home with other feline friends. PeeWee might not be the loveliest kitten, and just being black makes his harder to adopt (though he does have interesting brown tabby parks underneath), but we're sure his perfect person is out there just waiting to take him home.
