Beagle - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog - Daisy Dukes

Daisy Dukes was a"yard" dog for the first six years of her life. She had no walks, was never allowed in the house no matter how loud the thunder, cold the winter or icy the rain. She had no walks, no car rides and no one to play with with the exception of an occasional pat on the head from her elderly owner. When he went into the nursing home, a neighbor took Daisy for a walk and let her visit and romp in the neighbor's backyard. Two days later Daisy dug her way out of her first home and into the neighbor's yard. She has been there ever since. Daisy, a hound/beagle mix, has become housebroken, learned to settle down inside a house, and tolerates thunderstorms when herfoster mom is present. Daisy is a very loving dog without an aggressive bone in her body towards her people. She is an excellent watchdog and protecive of the ten year old in her new home. Daisy does not do well with car rides, but she loves long walks with her new person. Daisy can not stay where she is, however, because her new home also houses a flock of chickens. Daisy is not aggressive towards the hens, but she continuouslly digs into the hen house to eat the food. The hen house door and net have been repaired several times due to Daisy's perseverance. Daisy also loves to chase the cats on the property when they run. Daisy is not aggressive towards them, either, but if the cats run, Daisy runs too. It goes without saying, Daisy loves chasing the squirels on the property. Daisy still can not be allowed in the house without supervision and her nose takes her straight to whatever food is available. She really loved the half pizza that was supposed to be lunch for her humans! Daisy's middles names are love, affection, and loyalty. She is a good dog who has made many strides with her socialization but she needs a forever home with a fence, someone to walk her and play with her. She loves being with people and truely wants to please. More obedience training would help her with her manners.
