Treeing Walker Coonhound - Large - Adult - Male - Dog - Arnie

Arnie was rescued from the median of a busy highway and, thankfully, came running when called. He jumped into the car before the door was all the way open! He is as smart as he is handsome, but does not always use his brain power in ways that are in his own best interest. He can open gates in a flash and will climb a 4 ft. chain link fence without hesitation. When the clip is in the gate so that he can't open it, you can see him looking at the latch, trying his best to figure out a new way to approach the problem. He would probably surpass the average person on the SATs! Arnie has obviously been a pet, not a hunting dog. He was already neutered when found. He came to the shelter very underweight and has been steadily gaining weight on his lanky frame. He needs more meat on those bones and he agrees. He howls when he's hungry. Arnie gets along well with other dogs and is currently sharing a kennel with a spayed female boxer, Nugget. Arnie has received all vaccinations and will be microchipped before leaving the shelter.
